What are the steps for catheter dilation with PTCA balloon?
1. Prepare the vascular access site according to standard practice.
2. Insert a compatible guide wire through the hemostatic valve. Carefully pass the guide wire through the guide tube. After the guide wire is inserted, remove the guide wire introducer (if used).
3. Hemostatic valve should be used when using two-wire technology. Special attention should be paid to the introduction, twisting and removal of one or two wires. Guide wire rotation should not exceed 180 degrees.
4. Connect torque device to guide wire according to doctor's judgment. Under fluoroscopy, the guide wire is advanced to the desired vessel and then carefully threaded through the stenosis.
Load the distal end of the PTCA balloon catheter back to the proximal end of the guide wire. Make sure the guide wire appears from the RX port approximately 22 cm from the proximal end of the balloon.
5. Push PTCA balloon dilatation catheter on the guide wire until it is close to the hemostatic valve. Open hemostatic valve. The PTCA balloon dilatation catheter was inserted while maintaining the guide wire position until the balloon reached the lesion site.
7. Support the PTCA balloon dilatation catheter and firmly hold the proximal axis while pushing the PTCA balloon dilatation catheter into the guide catheter.
