How to use radial artery tourniquet?

The radial artery tourniquet is composed of a dial, a spiral handle, a base, a pressing plate and a fixing tape. Radial artery tourniquet is an external wearing hemostatic instrument, which is directly pressed on the femoral artery puncture point from the outside through the pressing plate. Two fixed tapes are directly adhered to the skin, and the spiral handle is used to rotate and pressurize downward to achieve the purpose of hemostasis.  

Check whether the radial artery tourniquet is intact and damaged before operation. The operator confirms that the pulse of dorsalis pedis artery is normal. Push out the arterial sheath for 2cm, then confirm the puncture point of femoral artery and cover with sterile gauze. The gauze shall not be folded. Press the pressing plate tightly at the arterial puncture point. Adjust the direction of the base. Fix the adhesive tape around the thigh. Press, clamp and stick it firmly. When fixing the adhesive tape, the balance between the screw handle and the pressing plate must be ensured. Rotate the screw handle clockwise for 6 to 8 turns to pressurize the femoral artery puncture point. When it is confirmed that the pressure balance of the pressing plate on the hemostatic point is stable, pull out the arterial sheath and then continue to rotate the screw handle clockwise for about 3 turns until there is no bleeding at the puncture point. It is advisable to check that the pulse of dorsalis pedis artery is slightly weakened and does not disappear.
